Everest Base Camp, the Mt.Everest region is the second most popular trekking region in Nepal. It would probably be the most popular destination, but it is more expensive and difficult to get Everest Region than to the Annapurna Region. To get Everest Region you most either walk for week or fly to Lukla a remote mountain air strip. Solukhumbu is justifiably famous, not for its proximity the world highest mountain, but also for its Sherpa willages and monasteries. The nominal goal of an Everest trek is Everest Base camp an elevation of 5340 meters and as well as Kalapattar, a 5545 meters bump on the southern flank of Pumori (7145m.) and Gokyo valley. The views of mountain from Gokyori peak an elevation of 5350 meters. Is dramatic from Gokyo more of Everest itself is visible though. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
